In Texas, state policymakers and educators are focusing on the potential for OER to support postsecondary access and affordability. While many Texas institutions have long been engaging in innovative OER practices and projects, the state has not had a broad, holistic understanding of OER adoption and use.
Commissioned by the Digital Higher Education Consortium of Texas and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, ISKME conducted a survey of 158 Texas institutions to assess the landscape of OER programs, policies, and practices.
The resulting report summarizes the survey findings, and concludes with a set of recommendations for how Texas institutions may be supported to more effectively utilize their resources to increase instructor and student use of OER—toward enhanced teaching and learning for all.
