    FAQ's From American Queen

What items do I need to bring to Check-In?

Enclosed Travel Documents, a valid, government-issued photo ID, and a credit card for on-board incidental charges

Due to regulations set forth by the Department of Homeland Security, no one will be permitted to embark the vessel without a valid government-issued ID. Once your documents and ID have been verified, you will be issued an American Queen Boarding Card. You must present this card to the American Queen security officer each time you embark and disembark the vessel.

How do I get from the Airport to the Pre-Voyage Hotel?

Airport Shuttle New Orleans, $20.00 per person one way and $38.00 per person round trip.

Airport Shuttle New Orleans, 4220 Howard Ave., New Orleans, LA 70125,  (504) 522-3500

This is a shared ride van service, picks up at the New Orleans International Airport and will take you to the The Hilton New Orleans Riverside. This shuttle is more convenient and economical than a taxi. No reservation is required. The shuttle picks up at the airport at the top of every hour.

On the return, a reservation is required at least three hours in advance for a transfer from the hotel to the airport.

Where do I park if I am driving to the dock?

    Fulton Place Parking Garage

901 Convention Center Boulevard, New Orleans, LA 70130

    Phone: (504) 269-7296

Discounted parking rates of $8.00 per day for rooftop parking and $10.00 per day for covered parking are offered to American Queen guests. Parking reservations can be made in advance by visiting www.neworleansparking.com. In order to secure these discounted rates, search by date and select “port” as the booking type. American Queen Steamboat Company and its affiliates are not responsible for the theft or damage to vehicles nor are they responsible for the operation or condition of the parking facility in general. This offer may be discontinued at any time and is capacity controlled. Please present your American Queen booking confirmation to the parking attendant upon arrival. The parking facility does not provide a shuttle.

    What are the luggage requirements?

Luggage is limited to no more than two pieces per person, not to exceed fifty pounds each. Before you arrive at American Queen Voyage Check-In, please attach the enclosed luggage tags to all luggage you wish to have transferred to the boat. Luggage collected from you at American Queen Voyage Check-In will be waiting for you inside your cabin onboard the American Queen. Please remember to keep your carry on bags with you at all times.

When and where will boat check-in be held?

American Queen Voyage Check-In will be held inside The Hilton New Orleans Riverside in the Breezeway. Guests who are joining us on the Pre-Voyage Excursion may take advantage of advanced check-in at 8:30 AM. Guests using Pre-Voyage Check-In at the hotel are responsible for their own transportation to The Hilton.

If I am not going on the pre-cruise, can I check in on the boat?

Yes. Onboard check-in will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 16th  from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The American Queen will be docked behind The Hilton New Orleans Riverside.

How do I get from the front desk of The Hilton to the American Queen?

Once inside The Hilton, go up the small escalator to the right of the front desk. Walk across the skywalk and enter the Riverside Complex. Walk past The Marketplace Gift Shop. You will see exit doors. Exit through the doors. Straight ahead you will see stairs and an elevator to the left of the stairs. Mobility Challenged Guests may wish to use the elevator while others may use the stairs. You will be on the river at this point. The American Queen is on the river about 600 feet ahead.

Will there be special assistance at boarding?

Yes. If you require assistance (wheelchair, etc) for boarding, please let our check-in crew know so we can make arrangements for you.

Do I have to participate in the Safety Drill?

Yes. All guests on-board will participate in this important but brief safety drill. Please note that no guests will be permitted to board the vessel after 4:00pm on Tuesday Feb. 16th.
