Technical Project Manager, OER SaaS Services

ISKME is an independent education nonprofit based in Half Moon Bay, California. The Technical Project Manager, OER SaaS Services will oversee the schedule and development of OER microsites, or custom digital libraries. The individual in this role will manage product definition and implementation of multiple microsite projects from kick-off to launch, serve as the point person for clients, and interface with information services and engineering teams. This role is client-facing, assisting with decisions on the organization and structure of microsites, from development thought launch of libraries.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, OER Products and Services, the position will be responsible for developing project plans, maintaining deliverable schedules, ensuring all project work is signed off by key stakeholders, communicating developer tasks through the online ticketing system, and ensuring that all issues are resolved and feedback is gathered and documented so that work processes are improved over time.  Clients are based across multiple time zones in the United States and internationally.


Key responsibilities

  • Project planning: Schedule and facilitate planning meetings, develop work plan, and timeline
  • Client interactions: Run weekly time-zone appropriate calls with clients, manage client relationships, document and distribute related meeting notes.
  • Status reports: Provide weekly status reports to the client.
  • Assign developer tasks: Using Jira ticketing system, accurately describe, assign, and track developer work.
  • Cross-functional team management: Work with other team members to ensure services are developed efficiently, on time, and on budget.


Skills required

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, both client and internal-facing
  • ​Work in an agile development environment, sprint-planning
  • Solid experience with tools and application such as SmartSheet, Jira, Confluence,
  • Writing specifications and engineering tickets in ticketing system
  • Organized and highly detailed self-starter with a positive, enthusiastic attitude towards work
  • Ability to communicate client goals and acceptance criteria with the engineering team
  • Able to quickly establish and nurture long-term client relationshipsConfidence to drive a team in order to get the best results for a project


Preferred Experience

  • Previous work experience in education technology field
  • Extreme familiarity and comfort with project planning tools, such as SmartSheet
  • 3-5 years project management experience
